New Ways to Appeal to Millennial Trial Recruits
As ‘patient-centricity’ becomes a growing focus of clinical research recruitment strategies, sponsors and investigators are using modern-day apps and snappy ads to appeal to millennials.
Researchers, Lawmakers Question the Clinical Trial Process
Are large clinical trials still relevant? Some experts argue they’re no longer as useful as they once were, especially for patients with life-threatening conditions. The reason: They need access to treatment long before the results of a multi-year study are published. But large-trial proponents say widely used treatment guidelines are only available today because of the thousands of participants enrolled and studied in trials. That envelope is getting pushed further with recent legislation that bypasses FDA rules to give patients with life-threatening illnesses access to experimental drugs, prompting some bioethicists to question whether the FDA’s gatekeeping mission is in danger.
